Camera angles:
·       High to low angles – To express dominance
·       Point of views - To express fear
·       Low to High angles -  To express inferiority
Iconography:
·       Dark colours - red and black
·       Low-key lighting
·       Weapons
·       Masks
·       Supernatural
The iconography of the monsters helps to connote extreme fear, disgust and terror – werewolves, vampire and mummies.
Character Types:
·       The main protagonist, usually victim or hero.
·       The villain, monster, mutated freak, alien or serial killer.
·       The Jock – always dies.
·       Police – either good or bad.
·       The final girl – the virgin.
